In our last survey, we asked you which treatments have grown the most at your medspa or practice this year. The increasingly rapid treatment innovation in aesthetics, however, means that while certain treatments may have grown this year overall, others are just now gaining rising attention with patients. To that end, we wanted to gauge the temperature of which treatments are currently generating particular interest among patients. Have you noticed patients showing greater interest in certain treatments as we approach the end of 2024?

In our recent survey which asked, Which of the following treatments are generating the most interest among your clients or patients: A. Energy-Based Treatments, B. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) & Exosome Therapies OR C. Injectables? 37% of readers said Energy-Based Treatments, 30% said PRP & Exosome Therapies and 33% said Injectables

3 Treatments Currently Generating the Most Patient Interest & Why

1. Energy-Based Treatments:

The recent innovations in energy-based devices have been emerging so rapidly this year that the energy-based technology appearing now as we approach 2025 compared to the technology available at the start of 2024 has advanced by leaps and bounds. A large part of this is due to the need for more effective and powerful body sculpting and skin tightening treatments that can address the skin laxity resulting from the skyrocketing GLP-1 therapies that have taken center stage in the aesthetics industry. In addition to that, we are seeing a massive increase in innovation due to companies across the globe coming together to collaborate and improve these technologies, with many brands from Europe and Asia now entering the US market, as well as American brands expanding to countries around the world. This incredible meeting of the minds is allowing for technological innovations that are simply mind blowing, such as devices that are more effective, decrease or eliminate pain once associated with certain treatments and combine multiple treatment modalities into one single device. It is safe to say that these powerful aesthetic tools are going to be getting increased patient attention for the foreseeable future.

2. PRP & Exosome Therapies:

It's no surprise that regenerative treatments like PRP and exosome therapy are generating significant patient interest, particularly as the area of regenerative aesthetics is also advancing at an ever-faster rate as time goes on. With issues like hair loss and the desire for more effective hair restoration treatments coming to the forefront of aesthetics in recent years, regenerative therapies such as PRP and exosomes are proving to be highly effective options for patients. They are also particularly effective treatment options for skin tightening and rejuvenation. Suffice to say, regenerative treatments such as these are only going to continue to rise in popularity as this technology continues to advance in the coming months and years.

3. Injectables:

Injectables have numerous points in their favor when it comes to aesthetic treatments at the moment. The prejuvenation trend amongst Gen-Z and Millennials is making injectables a popular and cost-effective option for preserving one's youthful looks before age begins to take its toll. In addition to the rising prejuvenation trend, injectables are now being used in combination with energy-based treatments to enhance treatment outcomes, particularly as they relate to skin tightening and the boom in GLP-1 therapies being used in aesthetics. We explored the treatment technique of structural sandwhiching earlier this year, which essentially uses injectables to stimulate collagen production beneath the skin while employing energy-based treatments to do the same above the skin. In this manner, the skin is being "sandwhiched" between these two stimulating agents, resulting in a synergistic effect that significantly enhances treatment results. This method also has the advantage of being able to treat both areas of the face and neck as well as the lower extremities - a major benefit amidst the GLP-1 "Weight Loss Revolution."
